Black (LIGHT) Friday Softball Tourney

Adult Night Glow Softball Tourney

Indoor Glow Softball Rules:

1) Teams will have no more than 10 players on the field. A team may bat unlimited hitters but only 10 at a time on the field. Fielders may shift and play anywhere on the field as long as there is a pitcher and a catcher behind the plate.

2) The pitchers mound will be approximately 50ft away from home plate and the strike zone will be the mat behind home plate.

3) Batters will start with a full count and no courtesy foul. (One-pitch)

4) Special bats that glow will be provided in different weights for players to use. This is for safety purposes and to allow the fielders to be prepared when a ball is ready to be put in play.

5) Batted balls will be live until they hit the ground. Any ball caught off the walls, the net, or any other way before touching the ground, will be ruled an out.

6) Homeruns - there is a line on the wall for homeruns where if the ball goes above AND is not caught before it hits the ground, it will be considered a home run.

7) The ball - an Easton IncredIball will be the official ball used for tournaments. The 11 inch IncredIball will be used for both males and females.

8) A female may not be thrown out at first from the outfield. The infielders must start in the infield to be eligible to throw out a female at first base. This is an umpire’s judgement call and the infielder’s responsibility to check with the umpire to ensure they’re within infield limits.

9) Teams may have one courtesy runner per inning, per gender. No free runner for the pitcher due to them not having to gear up. Although a mask is not mandatory, it is encouraged for a pitcher.

10) Game times will be 45 minutes and finish the inning. A timer rule will be put into effect that will pause the game clock inside a minute when a ball is not in play. This rule prevents teams from stalling to run out the clock.

11) The only run rule in effect is 12 runs at anytime after the completion of the third inning.

12) NO FOOD OR DRINK may be brought onto the playing field and absolutely NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO may be brought into the facility. There is a zero tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave immediately.

13) Dress warm even though the facility is indoor it does get cold. Dress like you’re playing on a chilly Fall night.

14) Have FUN and “GLOW!” Be creative on finding new and exciting ways to glow. The more glow the better for your team!
